Library Experience

                      Library Experience

The Library plays an important role in our daily life. It’s not only provides us knowledge but also gives us the effective environment to study. The Library is really a good friend with thousands of books and modern equipment. First of all, the library resource is very useful if students know how to access it. First, we can find thousands of books in the library, I was shocked when I went to the library for the first time, in here, I had to spend two hours to know the way to use it. With diversity of books, I can find any topic that serve the course I studies. In my opinion, the library is the best place for my assignment with the silence environment.
On the 29th of November 2021, it was sunny when I came to AUI. Just after my English class, I was heading to the library to find a quiet place where I could study. I saw a group of students coming out from the library.  In the library, I have had the privilege of learning about religions in unfamiliar parts of the world, such as Buddhism and Islam, that I had no knowledge of beforehand. From this experience, I have learned many interesting things about the cultures in which these religions are typically followed. Learning about many different religious ideas and practices in other areas of the world, like meditation, reincarnation, and the worshipping of multiple deities, has been valuable to me because it has cleared up some misconceptions I had, thus allowing me to be less ignorant on the topic. It has also given me a better understanding of others’ beliefs and traditions, no matter what region of the world they originated. I am consistently surprised at the possibilities that exist for some who has better than average understanding of organization, technology systems, and media, which are all basic principles taught in library. Research in the library provides compelling evidence that libraries and library staff have a positive impact on student achievement. In addition, information is a skill that can be learned. Despite the fact that I hate information, I am beginning to understand that the study of information is fundamental to librarianship.
As a computer science student, I learnt that Information is increasingly in digital form and programming is the most powerful tool to search and work with digital information.
Data migration will always be a problem, and learning programing can help one migrate data—or, at the very least understand why some forms are easier to migrate than others.
Computers are possibly the most common piece of equipment in every librarian’s job. Learning to program gives one a way to take control of the machine, or at least not feel so much at its mercy.
Programming librarians would allow libraries to develop more autonomy from outside vendors.
Programming is becoming a basic skill, like reading, writing, and math.
Information is increasingly electronic, and if librarians are going to be stewards of that information, we need to know how to manipulate it and preserve it.
Many people would like programming if they tried, but if not forced to try, will hang on to the idea that it is “too hard.”
Would teach future librarians that programmers are not superhuman and to understand a little what to expect when buying software.
In summary, my time in library has enriched my life in many ways. It has provided me with the necessary tools to enhance my skills more, taught me valuable knowledge about this diverse world and people and concepts in general and eventually will enable me to hopefully become more successful.
